Pat O’Leary’s garlic pot combines a sculptural contemporary form with the traditional features that protect garlic bulbs from heat and light and preserve the flavour of this culinary essential.

An ideal kitchen companion to the ceramicist’s stoneware grinding bowl.

Pat O’leary’s deceptively simple pieces are made in London and finished with opaque gloss and semi-matt glazes. O’Leary is interested in simple contemporary forms with contrasting finishes. The contrast between glazed and raw clay finishes emphasises the clean lines and the shape and texture of each vessel.

Of her work, O’Leary says, “as I am making, I like to imagine how the piece will be used and how it will be held.”
